Thank You for your continued support, help, time, and patience throughout the year. Positive and consistent communication between home and school is essential for a productive and effective educational experience for all children. All of us at Breese Elementary School District 12 want to thank all of you for your contributions you have made in any way, shape, or form throughout the year and wish you a wonderful summer! Please keep this newsletter handy for the rest of the school year since this will be the final one of the year. We wish you a wonderful and safe summer!
FOR YOUR INFORMATION:
Last Day of Attendance: The last school day will be on Monday, May 23rd! Report cards will be given at that time. This will be a 1:30 dismissal.
Students of the Month: We want to congratulate the students of the month for Breese Elementary School District 12. At the Beckemeyer Campus we have Merit G. 4th Grade; Carter D. 3rd Grade; Leyla K. 2nd Grade. At the Breese Campus we have Ambryn S. Kdgn; Peyton K. 1st Grade; Lauren J. 5th Grade; Zachary T. 6th Grade; Stephanie W. 7th Grade; Braden T. 8th Grade.
Senior Citizen/Grandparents Day: Thanks to all who came and visited us. We hope you enjoyed your afternoon, and we look forward to seeing you again next year.
PARCC Testing: We have finished PARCC testing. Thank you to all the students for working extremely hard.
New State Science Testing: The ISA (Illinois Science Assessment) will be given to students in grades 5 and 8 on Tuesday, May 10th.
State Band Competition: CONGRATULATIONS to the 6th-8th Grade Band for their Outstanding Performance on Saturday at Triad Middle School. The Band competed at the State level and received two First Superiors and One First making their combined total a First Place finish. We are proud of you!
Kindergarten Registration: Will be taking place on May 12th from 8:20 am to 3:00 pm and May 13th from 8:20 am to 11:00 am. Please bring your child, a certified copy of your childs Birth Certificate, and Proof of Residency. Call the school to set up an appointment at 526-7128 ext. 105.
Box Tops for Education: Congratulations to Mrs. Luebbers kindergarten class. They collected 764 Box Tops in the month of April to earn the Dairy Queen Ice Cream Cake! For the month of Mays contest, we will see which homeroom in each grade collects the most Box Tops for Dum Dum suckers. Since there are only 16 days of school left, we will end this contest Wednesday, May 18th.
Team Quest: Congratulations to the 3rd-4th Grade Team Quest for qualifying for the state competition. Even though they didnt place, they earned a trophy for the One minute challenge. Way to go! We are very proud of you!
Car Riders: Please abide by the requests of our school, for the safety of our students, drop off or pick up your child from the 7th Street Entrance only, not from Memorial Drive. We appreciate your help with this matter and thank you for understanding.
Graduation Ceremonies: Wednesday, May 18th, beginning at 7:00 PM in the gym, our 8th Graders will be officially promoted to High School! On Thursday, May 19th, Kindergarten Graduation ceremonies will take place in Breese at 9:00 AM! Congratulations to all!
Important End of Year Items: Fees, Late Lunch Money, and K, 2nd, and 6th Grade Dental Exams are due by May 15th. Please come to the office, before the last day of school, to resolve these issues. Your prompt attention to these matters is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
1st Grade Tour of the Beckemeyer School/ 4th Grade Tour of Breese Junior High: Will take place on May 16th. The 1st and 4th graders will meet new teachers and faces and locate various places throughout the school that will be important to them next year.
Supply Lists: Will be sent home the last day of school with report cards. Please keep it in a safe place over the summer so you will have it when needed to start the upcoming school year.
This and That: All items (cough drops, extra clothes) will be sent home on May 23rd. Lost and Found items will be taken to a charity on Thursday, May 26th. So stop by and take one last good look!
2016 Summer Sports Camps: There are several summer sports camps that will be offered this summer. If you are interested, please pick up a form in the office.
Registration for Next Year: There will be only one day of registration this year. On Tuesday, August 9th, registration will be from 10 am 8 pm at the Breese Campus. Registration is for kids entering 1st through 8th grades. See you then!
Important Medical Informational News: Pre-k students need a school physical. Kindergarten students need a school physical, eye exam, and dental exam. Second graders need a dental exam and sixth graders need a school physical and dental exam.
State History Fair: Congratulations to Grace B., Kayla S., Emma S., Chase W., Jakob F., Cody H., Bradon T. and Jeremy T. Their projects won Superior ribbons at the Springfield State History Fair! Great job for all your time and hard work.
State Track Meet: Congratulations to Taylor P. and Alexis O. for qualifying for the State Track Meet that will take place on Saturday, May 14th. Way to go ladies! We are very proud of you!
PTC NEWS: We would like to thank the volunteers, faculty, administration, staff, and parents, for making the Sports Booster PTC Vegas Night a huge success! We raised approximately $25,000.00! This money will go towards District 12 sports programs, field trips, class parties, assemblies, field day for the kids, computers and much more. We hope you all enjoyed yourselves and thank you for your support.
